2. Which personal data do we process?
The data we process depends on how you use our website, online store or services.
We do not process more personal data than is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which the data is used.
- first and last name;
- address, postal code and city;
- billing and delivery address;
- email address;
- telephone number;
- order and purchase details;
- payment and invoice information;
- account information;
- correspondence with Banketbakkerij Jullens;
- IP address and technical information about use of our website;
- cookie and analytics data, insofar as this may be processed under the applicable rules;
- location data when you give permission for its use.
3. Processing orders
When you place an order with Banketbakkerij Jullens, we process the data necessary to accept, produce, pay for, deliver or prepare the order for collection.
The main legal basis for this processing is performance of the contract you enter into with Banketbakkerij Jullens. Without the personal data necessary to carry out an order, we may not be able to process or deliver the order correctly.
- name;
- email address;
- telephone number;
- billing address;
- delivery address;
- order details;
- requested delivery or collection date;
- payment information;
- any comments you provide with the order.
4. Telephone number for every order
For every order we ask for a reachable telephone number. This number may be necessary to carry out the order correctly and is therefore requested as a mandatory order detail.
We may use the telephone number, for example, if there is a question or uncertainty about the order, if we cannot find the delivery address, if nobody is present at delivery, if we need information to complete the delivery correctly, or if an order prepared for collection has not been collected within the expected period.
The telephone number is not collected for these practical purposes in order to then be used for other purposes without a valid legal basis. Separate legal rules apply to commercial communications.
5. Payment and financial administration
To process payments, necessary data may be shared with the payment provider or financial institution carrying out the payment.
Banketbakkerij Jullens receives the information necessary to determine whether a payment has been completed successfully and to maintain our records.
Certain order, payment, invoice and administrative data must be retained due to statutory tax and administrative obligations. Data that forms part of our statutory administration is generally subject to a seven-year tax retention period.
6. Delivery
If you choose delivery, we use the personal data necessary to deliver the order to the agreed address.
If an external carrier or delivery service is used for an order, we provide only the data that the party reasonably needs to carry out the delivery.
- name;
- delivery address;
- postal code and house number;
- city;
- telephone number;
- relevant delivery information.
7. Customer account and customer environment
If you use a customer account, we process the data necessary to provide the account and to manage your orders and information within that environment.
Data concerning the use of an account may also be processed where necessary for security, fraud prevention, resolving technical problems or determining what has happened within an account.
- name and contact details;
- account information;
- order history;
- billing and delivery details;
- technical and security data.
8. Contact with Banketbakkerij Jullens
If you contact us by email, telephone, contact form or another communication method, we process the information you provide in order to handle your question, request or complaint.
We do not retain correspondence longer than necessary for handling the relevant contact, unless we must keep it longer because of an order, contract, dispute, legal obligation or other legitimate purpose.
9. Newsletter and commercial communications
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email address to send you the relevant messages.
We may also send commercial messages to existing customers where permitted by the applicable legal rules. You can always unsubscribe easily using the unsubscribe option in the relevant email.
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.
10. Location data
Your location may be relevant to certain website functions, for example to determine delivery options or distance.
If this uses the location function of your device or browser, we first ask for the required permission. You can manage permission to share your location through your browser or device settings.
If the delivery area is determined only from the address or postal code you enter, we process those details as part of carrying out your order.
11. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website and online store use cookies and similar technologies.
Some cookies are necessary for the website and online store to function properly, for example for navigation, security, shopping-cart functions and remembering necessary choices.
Analytical or other non-essential cookies and similar technologies may also be used to understand how the website is used and to improve our services.
Where consent is legally required for a particular type of cookie or processing, that processing will only be activated after consent has been given. Through the cookie settings on our website, where available and applicable, you can view or change your choices.
12. Analysis of website use
We may use analytics services to understand how visitors use our website, which pages are visited and where technical or usability problems arise.
The data is used as much as possible to improve our website and services rather than to track visitors unnecessarily on a personal basis.
Where consent is legally required for such analytics, the service will only be used after the visitor has given that consent.
13. With whom do we share personal data?
Banketbakkerij Jullens does not sell personal data.
We share personal data only where this is necessary for our services, where we have a valid legal basis, or where we are legally required to do so.
Where a party processes personal data on our behalf, we make appropriate arrangements regarding the protection and processing of that data where required.
- Shopify, as the platform on which our online store runs;
- payment providers and banks;
- carriers and delivery services;
- providers of IT, hosting and security services;
- providers of email or communication services;
- accounting and administrative service providers;
- analytics and cookie services, insofar as they may be used under the applicable rules;
- public authorities where we are legally required to provide data.
14. Processing outside the European Economic Area
Some service providers we use may process or store personal data in countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
Where personal data is processed outside the EEA, we ensure that there is a valid legal basis and, where necessary, appropriate safeguards in accordance with the GDPR. This may, for example, be based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission or approved Standard Contractual Clauses. You can request further information or a copy of the applicable safeguards free of charge via info@jullens.com.
15. How long do we retain personal data?
We do not retain personal data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, unless a statutory retention obligation or legitimate necessity requires certain data to be retained for longer.
When data is no longer needed and there is no legal or other valid reason to retain it, it is deleted or anonymised.
- financial and tax administration data: generally seven years insofar as it is subject to the statutory retention obligation;
- account data: while the account exists and afterwards only for as long as necessary or legally required;
- correspondence: for as long as necessary for the relevant contact or related contract or matter;
- newsletter data: until you unsubscribe, except for data necessary to respect your opt-out;
- cookie and analytics data: according to the applicable settings and retention periods of the relevant service.
16. Security of personal data
Banketbakkerij Jullens takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised alteration.
No digital system can guarantee absolute security, but we aim to keep security appropriate to the nature and risks of the data we process.
- secure connections;
- access controls and user permissions;
- password protection;
- security measures provided by our online-store and IT service providers;
- appropriate organisational measures within Banketbakkerij Jullens.
17. Your privacy rights
If Banketbakkerij Jullens processes personal data about you, you have various rights under the GDPR depending on the circumstances. Not every right applies in every situation. For example, we cannot delete certain data where we are legally required to retain it.

18. Automated decision-making
Banketbakkerij Jullens does not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects for customers or similarly significantly affect them, unless this is lawfully introduced in the future and clear information is provided in advance.
Automatic technical calculations within the online store, such as determining available delivery options or delivery charges based on entered order details, are intended to carry out the order.
19. Privacy complaints
If you have a question or complaint about how Banketbakkerij Jullens handles your personal data, please contact us first at info@jullens.com. We will try to deal with your question or complaint carefully.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), the Dutch supervisory authority for privacy.
20. Changes to this privacy policy
We may amend this privacy policy when our services, systems or applicable laws and regulations change.
The most recent version is published on our website. The date on which the policy was last updated is stated at the top.
Where a change affects processing for which renewed consent is required, we will request that consent before carrying out the relevant processing.
